RUTEC splinter protection curtains / rebound protection

RUTEC splinter protection is made from natural rubber-based compounds. The material is highly elastic and tear-resistant; bullet holes largely close up again, depending on calibre, ammunition and material thickness. We supply it as rebound protection for indoor shooting ranges and for open and partially covered ranges for hunting and sport shooting – as roll material, cut to size or as curtains made to measure.

Outdoors, natural rubber-based material ages faster due to UV light and ozone. We will be happy to advise you on the right grade and thickness for your range.

Resealing after penetration

The graphic shows how a bullet passes through a splinter protection curtain. Natural rubber-based material is elastic and tear-resistant: the bullet hole largely closes up again, depending on calibre, ammunition and material thickness. How long a curtain lasts depends mainly on calibre, number of rounds and hit pattern. With a rail system for endless curtains, the main impact area can be shifted so that the material is used more evenly.
